Materials Tile and Slate

Tiles can be ceramic/clay or cement/sand based product, while Slate is usually a quarried rock product, both can last 50 years or more. Both are available in several styles, each providing a unique appearance. Tiles and Slate give a very stately look which is particularly well suited for larger homes.

A high selling point for tile and slate is its ability to withstand extreme weather conditions. High wind, high heat and severe cold have no real effect on this type of roofing. Tile and slate roofing can be applied to almost any new or existing roof. One of the requirements is a fairly straight structure without any severe sags or bumps in its surface.

Most existing roofs can support the added weight of tile and slate, however we often employ a registered engineer to evaluate the structure. We are happy to discuss the various options for using tile or slate on your building.
