Richard Jones
Owner and Operator
Founded Jones Boys in 1984 following several years of performing in a jazz quartet called "The Jones Boys". Richard, like so many other artists, learned that singing would not bring him the financial success he desired and thus created his own full service maintenance company aptly named Jones Boys Maintenance.
"My father always tried to keep my brother and myself busy learning the value of hard work and earning money by bringing us to work with him at a large linen supply company doing miscellaneous maintenance and cleaning duties. It was this work ethic, that helped me recognize in 1984, that the maintenance and janitorial industry was sorely lacking and I felt the need to open a business that not only demonstrates my work ethic and attention to detail but a real concern for our workers and most importantly our customers. My greatest accomplishment is having a business that others respect and try to emulate. I'm proud of helping to develop people rich with character and susbstance, and to contribute to society a business that truly offers quality service, with honesty and values"
Richard's philosophy has always been to try and help others build their own companies while working at Jones Boys and is proud to have helped these companies form their foundations.

Damon Shelton
Operations Manager-Creative Director
Damon combines his experience in construction with his experience in media and communications. After several years of helping his father run their stucco company in Albuquerque New Mexico, Damon decided to go back to college and in 2004 graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelors degree in Film and Video. Upon graduation Damon was hired by a production company in Los Angeles and worked on shows for ESPN, FoxSports, Travel Channel and CourtTV.
In 2005 the oppurtunity to work in the NFL arose with the Seattle Seahawks. Damon was producer for several of the Seahawks Insider episodes available On-Demand from Comcast. Upon completion of those projects Damon moved on to other film and video projects.
"When I first met Richard we must have talked football for about an hour, next thing I know I'm Operations Manager for Jones Boys, and the rest is history" as the working relationship grew so did the idea of forming a new company that highlighted many of the same business philosphies that Damon and Richard shared, thus Element Smart Roofing was born.
"In the film and television industry the real juice is the challenege to create something original, something new and I saw an opportunity here to make a real difference in the way roofing is done and luckily Richard felt the same way. I am very excited to be a part of Element and look forward to seeing how far we can push the green building envelope while maintaining our excellent quality of work and customer service."
